AFTER READING ACTIVITIES:

1. Look at the picture on page 8 and the last three lines of the page. Why do you think the sergeant says "LET IT BURN"?
2. Look at the picture on page 12 and read the 5th paragraph. Why do you think the stranger has come to visit the family?
3. Do you think Mary and William shared the same wish? Why?/Why not?
4. Imagine you are Herbert White. It is the day after the sergeant major`s visit. Tell your friends at work about the visit and the paw.
