ANSWERS

1. Because he needed their help and advice since something strange and frightening had been happening.
2. It was Sir Hugo Baskerville. He was a wild and evil man who enjoyed hurting people.
3. The dead girl was the daughter of the farmer who was Sir Hugo's neighbour. She appeared lying in the valley, on the flat ground, between the two great stones next to Sir Hugo.
4. She got there after running away from Sir Hugo and his hounds.
5. One of them died from the horror he saw that same night and the other two were deeply mad for the rest of their lives.
