Arsène Wenger speaking about languages

Arsenal Football Club sent as a video where the coach, Arsène Wenger,  speaks about the importance of learning a foreign language and how important learning English was for him.

Arsenal Fooball Club encourages children to learn a foreign language through the Project Arsenal Double Club.

If you want to learn more about the team where Fàbregas or Reyes used to play, click on here and visit its website.

Of course, IES Diego Torrente Pérez thanks Arsenal Fooball Club for all the material they have sent us and for the interest they show towards the importance of learning a foreign language.

Here you have a brief translation of Wenger's words:

Si no hubiera aprendido inglés no me sería posible.

WANT TO MEET LIBERTY AND PEACE?

U.S. President Barack Obama pardons the 2011 Thanksgiving Turkeys,
Liberty and Peace (they don`t know where Peace is...) on the North Portico of the White House.

This ceremony took place on 23rd November.

 President Obama has said,
"Thanksgiving is one of the best days of the year to be American...
but it is one of the worst days of the year to be a turkey".

If you want to see this strange ceremony, watch this VIDEO

"You`re hereby pardoned," said Obama.

Liberty and Peace are expected to live at Mount Vernon, the home and farm of the first US President George Washington.

Thanksgiving is a national holiday. Many Americans spend the day with the family and friends eating roast turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY!

OUR ROOMS!

A new academic year has just begun.
New friends, new groups, new teachers and...
new rooms!!!
Learn something about them!

ROOM 1 - CENTRAL PARK

Central Park is a public park in the centre of Manhattan in New York City.

The land was bought by the city leaders more than 150 years ago
as New York was growing rapidly and
there weren`t any public green spaces in the city.

The competition to design the park was won by Calvert Vaux and
Frederick Law Olmsted.

ROOM 2 - THE TUBE

The famous London Underground is also known as the Tube.
It is the first metro in the world and it has 260 stations.
Famous lines are Central line, Circle, Victoria and District line.
The newest is called Jubilee line.

ROOM 3 - PICADILLY CIRCUS

Picadilly Circus is one of the best known places in London.

It`s a good place to meet around the steps of Eros but
it is mainly famous for its colourful and brightly lit advertising signs.
