MIND THE GAP

It was such a good experience that we needed to come back. Millions of people had visited London since last April but, what about the #Torrentistas? London had missed us so much that it welcomed us with the best of its weather.

There we were again, 40 brave manchegos divided into #GuaposYSimpáticos, #FotogénicosPacosMen and #ElectricBlueCats ready to check that the city that appears in our Burlington books really exists and is not an evil invention of English teachers (page 92, exercise 1, listen and repeat) to keep everyone motivated.

Notting Hill, set of famous films and icon of Carnival lovers, was the starting point. After it, a very nice walk throughout Hyde Park screaming every 2 minutes in because of the shock caused by the posh cars that we found.

Who can say that has gone running in Hyde Park? The #Torrentistas. After a busy  day visiting Stamford Bridge and the Tower of London, getting lost several times along the Thames, and dancing Gangnam Style at St. Paul’s, we really deserved some exercise.

Álvaro is praying. He hopes Zarco gets new shoes for his birthday. The crazy ladders of a Second World War warship are not the best help if you want to keep your consciousness awake.

But do you know what really keeps you awake? The great sound of those Dr Dre Beats that we bought by
                                                              the dozens in Camden Town.

Is there anything more English than watching the changing of the guards under the snow? Is there anything more traditional than eating Chicken Tikka Masala in London? Maybe getting lost in the busy underground during rush hour? Not at all. English football!! Abramovich wants us to come back to Stanford Bridge because Torres…scored two goals!! Maybe because of the Spanish flags, maybe because of the porompompon dance, or maybe because Borja got lost (again) in the toilets. Nobody knows, but Torres….scored!!!

That was it. #DiegoTorrenteLondonTripII finished and we left the city crying behind us. For next year, Marga or Lucía can tell the new students where to buy a loaf of bread for 4 euros, Roberto can tell how to fall in love with a receptionist, Ana Isabel is an expert in breaking a suitcase four times and then losing the ID in the airport, Carlos will teach them how to eat a whole Toblerone and get sick afterwards, Luis is an expert dialoguing with the underground security men, Edu can teach them the names of all football players (just in case), Raquel will tell them how to make a photo book in four days, Ana will probably advise them not to get their knees injured, Marina will remind them to mind the gap, Álex or Javi can advise them not to fall asleep next to a teacher…and many other things. What happens in London, stays in London… or in this blog, be careful! London is getting ready. We’ll be back.

shhh...Genius sleeping....
