    2. They believed that the islands were located by sailing west
    3. because he needed money to make his travel

    1. In 1480 Ferdinand Magellan was born in Portugal.
    2. The Spice Islands could be reached by sailing west throught the new world.
    3. To find a route to the Spice Islands by sailing west from Spain there by giving the spanish Empire control of the area.
    4. The crew anchored in southern south America to wait out the winter as the weather began to get better in the spring.
    5. To look for a way through to the Pacific Ocean.
    6. The strait of All Saints.
    7. They landed in the Philippines and became friends with a tribal King.
    8. Magellan was killed by lapu-lapu's army.
    9. To make sure that one ship would make it back to Spain, he sent the Trinidad back east and the Victoria continued on west.
    10. Magellan's voyage was a key contributor to future maps and journeys into the Pacific Ocean. His voyage provided details that no other Explorer had ever provided he paved the way for future explorers to discover the new world.

    3-because the Portuguese King like Columbus was rejected looking for support
    4-They stopped in Rio de Janeiro, to restock its supplies

    8-Magellan took part in the Battle of Mactan and was killed by lapu-lapu czar me

    1.Ferdinand Magellan was born in Portugal in 1940.
    2. They thought they could be located by navigating west through the new world.
    3. Because Carlos gave him a large sum of money to find a route to the island of spices to the west of Spain.
    4. To replenish their supplies from there.
    5. To look for a way through the Pacific.
    6. He called it the Strait of Magellan.
    7. The landed the Philippines.
    8. Magellan took part in that battle and was killed by Tsar Lapulapu.
    9. The other boats returned to Spain.
    10. It was a key collaborator of maps and future trips.

    Ferdinang Magellan was born in Portuga in 1490.

    Magellan believe that the spice Island could be reached by sciling west.


    3.Why did he share his plan with Charles I?
    Charles the firt was persuaded by Magellan and gave him a large sum of money to find a route to the spice Island by sailing west from Spain.


    4.After months of sailing, why did the fleet anchor at Rio de Janeiro?
    The fleet anchored at what is today know as Rio de Janeiro in Brazil to restock its supplies.

    Magellan named the strait of all saints and sailed into the pacific ocean.

    Disease her supplies were not adequately restocked until march went.

    Magellan took part in the battle of mactan and was killed by lapu-lapu.

    To make sure that one ship would make it back to spain he sent the trinidad back east and the victoria continued on west on september 6th 1522.

    Today the strait at the bottom of shouth america is called the strait of Magellan he also named the pacific ocean as no other explorer to that point had ever sailed there.
