GUESS 15...

All over the world, Carnival is usually held in February or March,
just before Lent.

During these days, there are parades and street parties.

However, what about London?

IN WHICH PART OF THE CITY DOES THE CARNIVAL TAKE PLACE?

 and

WHEN?

GUESS 14 …

… AND THE OSCAR GOES TO…

There are several theories about the origins of its name.  However, everybody knows that  this gold-plated statuette is known by its nickname, Oscar.

Just imagine you get nominated  and, of course, you win an Oscar. Now you have a problem as you don`t really like it at home. So you decide to sell it.
How much is it worth ?

ALL THE WORLD`S  A  STAGE

“All the world´s a stage, and all the men and women merely players: They have  their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts.”
William  Shakespeare

Last week, our students from ESO and 1º Bachillerato enjoyed  the play ALL THE WORLD`S A STAGE by the company MOVING ON. The students always love being on stage and  taking part in the performance  as we can see in the picture.

Thanks to all of them.

GUESS 12...

We are learning English and it sometimes seems that English is only spoken in the UK. Everybody knows that London is the capital city of England. You also know that Edinburgh is in Scotland and you may remember that Dublin is in Ireland. Thanks to football,  now everybody knows that Cardiff is in Wales.

But what about other countries where English is also spoken?

What do you know about the US?

Can you place in a map states such as California, Texas, Utah, Iowa?

Now, it`s time to have a close look at this map.

As you can see, there are different colours. This week, we are interested in the GREEN states: both the dark green and the light green

What are their names?
